## Brief
Apply 100% of your efforts on the correct 20% to gain 80% of the available value
Minimise your efforts when you pass the top 20% yielding items because your gain will be 20% or less
## The difference is huge
The ratio difference in effect is 1:4 for the high yielding 20% to 1:0.25 for the 80% low yielding or a different of 1 to 16 meaning 1 unit of effort yields 16 times more of the result your want in the top 20%
## Not about amount of effort
The 20 and 80% numbers don’t refer to the amount of effort you’re putting in, but the causes and consequences you’re working on. The goal is not to minimize the amount of effort, but to focus your effort on a specific portion of work to create a bigger impact. You still have to put 100% of effort into that 20% of focus to achieve 80% of results.
